Setup guide
Android. Install, sign in, connect, and confirm protection is on.
1. Install
Install Lumina from the Google Play link in your testing invitation. Android 8.0 (API level 26) or newer is required.
2. Sign in
Open Lumina and sign in with your account. If you do not have an account yet, follow the in-app link to create one.
3. Read and accept the consent screen
Before your first connection, Lumina shows a short screen explaining what happens when you connect: your traffic is routed through Lumina's relay servers, that traffic is encrypted, and that Lumina does not build features that log which sites you visit tied to your account. You need to tap Agree and continue to proceed. If you tap Decline, Lumina will not start the VPN, and you can return to this screen any time you try to connect.
4. Connect
Tap the connect control on the main screen. Android will show its own one-time system prompt asking to let Lumina set up a VPN connection; allow it. Lumina then establishes the tunnel.
5. Confirm protection is on
Once connected, the app's status shows Connected. Android also shows a persistent key icon in the status bar while any VPN is active, which is a system indicator, not something Lumina adds itself.

To exclude specific apps from the VPN, see the split-tunnelling explainer. If something is not working as expected, see Troubleshooting.
